Sarah Hitchcock began singing in her local pantomime group as part of the chorus before joining her local church choir, under the directorship of Geoff Walker, in 2000. Sarah began undertaking singing lessons from Susan Turner LSM a few years later at school and continued her tuition privately. Sarah's voice rapidly developed into a Classical Coloratura Soprano; she began performing at wedding ceremonies and was also a member of various choirs, including Henley Chamber Choir and Ipswich Chamber Choir. After completing her Music A Level at 6th Form and Grade 8 singing with ABRSM, Sarah studied for her BA(Hons) degree in Music at Colchester Institute from which she graduated in October 2013 with a 2:1, her vocal tutors at university were Ian Ray and Catherine May. Aside from consistently achieving high marks in performance examinations throughout university, Sarah consistently achieved 1st class marks in her aural examinations. Whilst studying at university, Sarah was a member of the main Music course choir, the auditioned Chamber Choir and also sang with the university's Jazz Ensemble.
Since leaving university, Sarah performed as a backing singer with the Carpenters tribute band Horizon, has recently begun singing with a 6-piece band It's Fete and founded a 1940s vintage vocal trio, The Three Chordettes, with which she has performed at The 100 Club and the War & Peace Revival as guests with The Jive Aces, at the Duxford Imperial War Museum with the Galaxy Big Band and at the Barham Hall Picnic Concert with the Essential Sounds big band.
